Kirk Loevner
Chief Executive Officer
Kirk has over twenty-five years of experience in the technology
industry. He has been CEO of four Internet companies, including Internet
Shopping Network, an early e-commerce company acquired by Home Shopping
Network; PublishOne, an online publishing company acquired by
InterTrust Technologies; Screaming Media, an online media company
acquired by CBS; and most recently, Epocrates, a healthcare technology
company providing clinical information to healthcare professionals.
Kirk was a marketing executive at Apple for ten years where he led the
introduction of many hardware and software products. He has a B.S.E. in
Computer Science from Tufts University and an M.B.A. from Harvard

Jonathan Hare
Chairman, Founder
Jonathan is a serial entrepreneur and technology executive, and has held a variety of executive roles spanning strategy, product management, software development, strategic alliances, and marketing over a twenty year career. He was founder and CEO of Consilient, Inc. an internet software firm which pioneered XML-based collaborative application technology. Earlier, he was founding CEO of Evolve Software, an enterprise software vendor which pioneered a new application market, and went public in 2000. Jonathan has held executive, management and technical positions at Teseract, Microsoft, Cornerstone Research, Strategic Planning Associates, and Impell Corporation.
Jonathan has broad expertise in Internet and enterprise software, security and privacy technology, electronic health records, healthcare policy, etc. He is a member of the Health IT Standards Panel's Security and Privacy Technical Committee, the Identity Credential Management Working Group, and the Markle Foundation Consumer Authentication Working Group. He is also a member of the Markle Foundation Personal Health Technology Council.
Jonathan is a noted expert in the application of Complex Adaptive Systems Theory to enterprise software and business processes, and a regular participant in cross-disciplinary symposia at the Santa Fe Institute and the Aspen Institute. He is the Chairman of the E.O Wilson Foundation technical advisory board.
Jonathan received his MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. He was a Regents and Chancellors Scholar at UC Berkeley, where he majored in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.

Ethan Ayer
Chief Financial Officer
Ethan has been an IT, Internet and information security investor since 1998 when he joined his first venture capital firm. He joined Allegra Parntners in 2000 and was a Partner at One Equity Partners and Milestone Venture Partners before joining Resilient first as an investor and later as CFO. He has served on the Boards of CyberTrust (sold to Verizon), Telwares, Worktopia.com and now Resilient. Ethan started his career at Merrill Lynch & Co. in Structured Finance.
Ethan received a Masters Degree from Cambridge University, and an A.B. from Harvard College.

Dr. David Hartzband
Chief Technology Officer and VP of Products
Dr. Hartzband brings more than two decades of diverse experience in the private and public sectors as a consultant, executive and technology industry leader. He has developed advanced database and metadata technologies, including knowledge base, similarity-based reasoning systems and model and ontology-based systems. He has also developed products in the distributed middleware, content management and collaboration areas, as well as architectures for large-scale data and information management systems.
His previous work experience includes external technology consultant for Santa Barbara (SBCCDE) and many other RHIOs and healthcare organizations, architect of several HIT products, CTO or Technology VP at Upstream Consulting, Agile Software, eRoom Technology, Documentum, EMC, Architect of Digital Equipment's relational database (rdb) and CORBA products (ObjectBroker), Chief Scientist for Artificial Intelligence, Lecturer in Engineering Systems, MIT; research in technology adoption by healthcare organizations and course development in large-scale software systems.
Dr. Hartzband is the author of numerous technical reports and journal articles in mathematics, artificial intelligence, concurrent engineering and cultural anthropology. He holds a doctoral degree in mathematics and has served as an adjunct faculty member at both Stanford University (Computer Science Department & Knowledge Systems Laboratory) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Leaders for Manufacturing Program).

Dr. Eric Haseltine
Chief Scientist
Dr. Haseltine was the Associate Director of National Intelligence for Science and Technology (the CTO for the entire national intelligence community), and before that was the Director of Research at the National Security Agency. Prior to that he was EVP of Disney Imagineering where he was in charge of all R&D for Walt Disney Corporation. While at Disney he worked closely with some of the brightest minds in the software industry - among them Alan Kay and Danny Hillis - incubating new technologies for mass consumer markets and online gaming and communities.
Dr. Haseltine was also the Director of Engineering for Hughes Aircraft, where he focused on developing virtual reality systems for flight simulation. He has 15 patents in optics, special effects and electronic media, and more than 100 publications in science and technical journals, the Web, and Discover Magazine.

Andrew Gumperz
Director of Engineering
Andrew manages the technical teams that create infrastructure and support integration efforts for partners and customers. He brings 15 years of software development and analysis experience in various roles. He started his career at Evolve Software in engineering, later serving as a manager within professional services at Ariba, Vendavo, and Metreo.
